General information and Conditions

Dates & Venue

The 19th International Congress of Cytology is held from Saturday 28th to Wednesday 1st June 2016.
The Congress takes place at Pacifico Yokohama which is located in Yokohama which is one of the major city in Kanto region with a historical port and located approximately 30 - 40 minutes far from Center of Tokyo by car and train.

Registration Desk

The on-site registration desk will be located on the 2nd floor of the conference center.

The opening hours are the following:

Badge identification

A name badge is provided with your registration documents upon arrival at Pacifico Yokohama. For security and regulation purposes, the wearing of the badge is compulsory at all times both inside Pacifico Yokohama and at all official events organized within the context of the Congress.


The Exhibition of the International Congress of Cytology is held in Pacifico Yokohama, Japan, May 28 - June 01, 2016, in the Exhibition Hall A (level 1).
This is a great opportunity for delegates to meet exhibitors and discuss, check out and be informed on their new drugs, equipment and techniques, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals and medical publishing.

Abstracts are published online (supplement issue of Acta Cytologica - The Journal of Clinical Cytology and Cytopathology).
You may also find the abstracts in the conference app which can be downloaded at our website.

Cellular phones

Participants are kindly requested to turn on silent mode their mobile phones when entering the meeting rooms and in the posters and exhibition areas.

Certificate of attendance

A certificate of attendance will be printed and given to all the participants together with your name badge at the registration desk.


A cloakroom is located on the 1st floor of the Conference Center. Please make sure that no personal belongings are left after sessions closing each day.

The IAC issue points to CMIAC, CT (IAC) and CT (IAC-GYN).

For the ICC2016 program the credits will be assigned as follows:

  • Full registration: 33 points
  • Daily registration: 9 points
  • Each workshop, Video Microscopy Tutorial, Meet the Expert attended: 2 points

Disclosure of conflict of interest

For a full transparency, it is planned that any commercial affiliation is openly declared and identified at the beginning of every presentation /poster to inform the audience about it.
Every speaker/author presenting a financial link or an affiliation to commercial organizations is considered as having a conflict of interest, which can have a direct or indirect link with the contents of the conference.

Duplication, recording, photos

Photography, audio-taping, video recording, digital taping or any other form of duplication is strictly prohibited in the session rooms and poster areas. In the exhibition area, pictures or film are allowed if permitted by the concerned exhibitor.

Future meetings

Literature presenting future meetings of interest to the Congress participants is displayed on the Future Events table, located on the 2nd floor of the Conference Center, after permission by the Organizers.

Internet access

The Congress organizers have made available to the participants a WI-FI access. This access is free of charge and will be provided for the duration of the event.

Lost and found

Lost items should be returned to the General Information Desk which is located on the 2nd floor of the Conference Center. Should you lose anything, please report to this desk for assistance.

Lunches & Breaks

Lunch boxes will be provided at all Luncheon Seminars without any charge.
During morning and afternoon breaks, refreshments will be served in the exhibition area.

Smoking policy

Smoking is allowed only at the designated smoking area.

Speakers preview center

For the general organization, after having pick-up the badge at the registration desk, each speaker should go to the SPEAKERS PREVIEW CENTER, located on the 1st floor of the Conference Center.
All speakers are required to go to the preview center to deposit their presentation file.

Special Exhibition - M & KATERA

Please do not miss this chance to have a look at “M & KATERA” microscope which is exhibited on the 2nd floor of the conference center near the registration desk.
“M & KATERA”, which was announced in 1914, had succeeded commercially as well with important meaning as microscope becoming foundation of creating Japanese microscope industry.
